Community Salon Featuring Works by Ernie Mae Miller & Interview with Margaret Wright
Celebrating Black Music Month, the Austin History Center recreates the jazz scene experienced on Red River Street during the 50’s and 60’s through a special community salon. Featuring a performance and interview with music legend Margaret Wright and discussion about the life of Ernie Mae Miller. The singer enjoyed a 15-year residency at the New Orleans Club and helped usher in the beginning of Red River’s reputation as a live music destination.
